Escondido Pool Builders provides professional green pool cleanup & acid washing in Escondido, CA for homeowners across North San Diego County. A green pool is a filtration problem and a money problem, and which one we solve first depends on how far it has gone. If the water is green but you can still see the bottom, recovery in place is almost always cheaper.
Balance the water, shock it properly, run the filter continuously and clean the cartridge daily for several days.
It takes longer than a drain and it does not spend a pool's worth of imported water to get there, which matters here more than it would elsewhere.
When the water is opaque, or black at the bottom, or the plaster underneath is stained, we drain. The constraint then is where that water goes.
Chlorinated pool water does not belong in the street or a storm drain anywhere in this county, and on the outlying properties we serve that run on septic, the system will not take that volume either.
We plan the discharge before a pump goes in the water. Acid washing gets requested by name and is not always what we recommend.
Acid removes plaster and you do not get it back, so a thin surface that has already been acid washed twice can be washed straight into needing a resurface. We chlorine wash first and keep acid for surfaces with material left to give.
We do not leave a shell sitting empty in July. Plaster dries out and the sun is not kind to it, so a drain, wash and refill runs as one continuous job rather than something we come back to on Thursday.
The filter that ran a swamp is still full of it. Strip the grids or replace the cartridge, because a clean pool reinfected by its own filter is a wasted weekend.
On foreclosure and rental restorations we quote the entire path, including the refill and the first month of chemistry, because that is the number that actually gets the pool back.
With 15+ years of experience, our insured and bonded team brings the right materials and equipment to every job — gunite and shotcrete shells, C-53 licensed pool construction, decomposed granite and boulder excavation, pebble, mini-pebble and quartz interior finishes, glass and porcelain waterline tile, travertine and Santa Barbara sandstone coping — and backs the work with a written workmanship warranty. We serve Escondido and nearby communities including San Diego, Oceanside, Carlsbad, Murrieta.

Materials, equipment and how we do green pool cleanup & acid washing
The difference between green pool cleanup & acid washing that lasts and green pool cleanup & acid washing that gets redone in three years is almost always preparation and materials, not the finish you see on day one. We work with gunite and shotcrete shells, C-53 licensed pool construction, decomposed granite and boulder excavation, pebble, mini-pebble and quartz interior finishes, spec them to the job instead of to the invoice, and write the material grades into the free estimate so you know exactly what you are buying.
Every Escondido job runs the same way: site walk and measurements, written scope and fixed price, protection of the surrounding area, then the work itself with a daily clean-up. 15+ years of pool work in North San Diego County means we have already met whatever your property is going to throw at us — awkward access, older construction, an HOA with opinions.
