How much does a new pool cost in Escondido?
Most inground gunite pools in North County land between the mid-$60,000s and the low $100,000s once decking, equipment, permits, and the safety features California requires are counted. San Diego County sits at the higher end of the state for good reasons: C-53 licensed labor, Title 20 and Title 24 equipment rules, seismic and soils engineering, and rock.

Will you hit granite digging my pool?
Possibly, and it depends heavily on the lot. Escondido and the surrounding valleys sit on decomposed granite with boulder outcrops, and hillside sites in Hidden Meadows, Valley Center, Ramona, and parts of Fallbrook hit solid rock often. It is not a disaster, it is hammer time and haul-off, and it can add days.
We look at your lot, your neighbors' construction, and any grading history before quoting, then price it as a range. Anyone quoting a hillside North County excavation without mentioning rock has not really looked.
What are the two safety features California requires?
Since January 2018 the California Swimming Pool Safety Act has required new residential pools, and pools undergoing permitted remodels, to include at least two drowning-prevention features from an approved list. That list includes a compliant enclosure, removable mesh fencing, an ASTM F1346 safety cover, exit alarms on doors leading to the pool, self-closing and self-latching devices on those doors, and pool alarms. We design your two into the project so final inspection is paperwork rather than a scramble.
How hard is North County water on a pool?
Hard. San Diego County runs largely on imported Colorado River water, which carries high calcium and total dissolved solids, and the practical result is scale on waterline tile, inside salt cells, and in heat exchangers.
It is completely manageable with a real plan: periodic bead blasting of the tile band, descaling the salt cell on schedule, and choosing a pebble or quartz interior rather than plain white plaster. It also means water is expensive here, which is why we push covers harder than most builders.
Is it hotter here than at the coast?
Considerably, and that is the whole reason inland North County is pool country while the coast is not. Escondido, San Marcos, Valley Center, and Ramona routinely run ten to twenty degrees warmer than Encinitas or Carlsbad on the same afternoon, with real September and October heat driven by Santa Ana conditions. It also means our swim season is genuinely long, which changes the math on heaters, covers, and variable-speed pumps.
Do you service pools you did not build?
Most of our service work is on other people's pools, including plenty of 1980s and 1990s shells across Escondido, San Marcos, Vista, and Poway that are structurally sound and simply need new plaster, new tile, and equipment from this decade.
